DIN EN 50411-6-1:2024-08

This document contains the dimensional, mechanical, and environmental requirements for the operational behavior at the beginning of the service life of an unprotected microduct. The document represents an early stage of discussion at the European level - the national consensus is documented in VDE 0800-720: "Guidelines and qualification schemes Broadband – Part 720: Guideline on material requirements for FTTx Broadband-Networks" as well as VDE 0800-730 for in-house use. Dimensions and some test methods are listed that refer to existing IEC standards. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of the document. The standard differs from DIN EN 50411-6-1 (VDE 0888-500-61):2012-03 as follows: a) updated reference to cable tests EN 60794-1-21; b) more designs with different nominal outer and inner diameters available on the market have been added; c) update of tests and test severities in accordance with the new edition EN IEC 61753-1:2018. The standard increases investment security for manufacturers and users through its application and provides test laboratories and manufacturers with guidelines for testing.
