Overview
The DIN EN 50491-5 standard series is intended to ensure a common level of EMC requirements for HBES/BACS devices. DIN EN 50491-5-1 provides the general performance requirements and test setups for EMC for all products connected to HBES/BACS. This connection can be wired (for example, communication cable, powerline) or wireless (for example radiofrequency, infrared). The standard shall be applied to: operator stations and other human-system interface devices; devices for management functions; control devices, automation stations and application-specific controllers; field devices and their interfaces; cabling and interconnection devices; engineering and commissioning tools. The responsible Committee is K 716 "Elektrische Systemtechnik für Heim und Gebäude (ESHG)" ("Home and Building Electronic Systems (HBES)") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
