This European Standard applies to all Monitoring and Alarm Receiving Centres that monitor and/or receive and/or process signals that require an emergency response. It is noted that this European Standard does not supersede any legislative requirements enacted by a National Government to control the security. This standard cannot interfere with items that are regulated by (inter)national regulations concerning other services (for example, water, waste water, oil and/or gas supplies, and mains power supplies). The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 713.1 "Gefahrenmelde- und Überwachungsanlagen" ("Alarm and surveillance systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
