Overview
This is a European Standard for cable management products used for electrotechnical purposes. It refers to the Council Directives on the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States relating to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU by taking into account the essential requirements of this Directive. This standard applies to the main elements of the safety objectives for electrical equipment for use within certain voltage limits (Low Voltage Directive - 2006/95/EC). This European Standard specifies the requirements and tests for cover plates and tapes used for mechanical protection, identification and warning marking of the location of buried cables or electrical installation conduits. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 543.2 "Führungssysteme für Kabel und Leitungen" ("Cable management") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
