This European Standard focuses on interworking of household appliances and describes the necessary control and monitoring measures. It defines a set of functions for household and similar electrical appliances which are both interconnected and connected to other devices via an in-house network. At DIN and VDE the responsible Committee is K 513 "Hausgeräte, Gebrauchseigenschaften" ("Household appliances, performance characteristics") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies).
