Overview

This standard specifies the requirements and testing programme for unscreened straight patch cords and application specific patch cords for class E channels in accordance with standard series EN 50173. The cords assembled with a connector in accordance with IEC 60603-7-4 are suitable for digital communication with transmission characteristics up to 250 MHz. The responsible committee is DKE/K 412 "Kommunikationskabel (Kabel, Leitungen, Wellenleiter, Lichtwellenleiter, Komponenten, Zubehör und Anlagentechnik für die Nachrichten- und Informationsübertragung)" ("Communication cables (Cables, wires, waveguides, optical fibres, components, accessories and systems engineering for telecommunication and transmission of information)") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
