This document specifies requirements and tests for dense solid-wall conduit systems made of PE, PP, and PVC-U with circular cross-section, which are manufactured individually or as part of an assembly with a specified service life and are buried to a depth of up to 6 m for the protection and management of insulated conductors and/or power supply cables or communication cables. Applications requiring dense solid-wall conduit systems are: - the laying of cables in conduit systems by blowing; - the laying of cables in conduit systems by flooding; - the trenchless laying of conduit systems. This document applies to conduit systems with or without integrated sleeves and fittings. Conduit systems in which cables are laid by blowing or flooding can also be laid using conventional methods. Cables can also be laid by pulling and pushing. In a conduit system made of thermoplastic material, pipe fittings made of other materials may be used, for which, however, no specifications are given in this document. It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to take into account any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes when selecting the products to be installed, based on the characteristics specified in this document. The general requirements of Part 1 of this series of standards, to which reference is made in part in this document, also apply. Microducts are covered in the relevant part of the EN 60794 series of standards; see the answers to the scope of this document.
