This European Standard specifies the material state designations for all forms of semi-finished products (wrought products) made of aluminum and wrought aluminum alloys and for continuously cast pre-materials and strip (wire rod and strip) made of aluminum and aluminum alloys. Some of these material state designations may be the subject of a patent or patent applications and their listing herein is not to be construed in any way as the granting of a license under such patent right. Additional designations of material states according to this standard may be standardized in CEN/TC 132 and AECMA/5 under certain conditions. This document (EN 515:201) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 132 "Aluminium and aluminium alloys" (secretariat: AFNOR, France) of the European Committee of Standardization (CEN). Working Committee NA 066-01-06 AA "Bänder, Bleche, Platten" ("Sheet, strip and plate") at DIN Standards Committee Nonferrous Metals (FNNE) is responsible for the German contribution.
