Overview
This standard applies to alternating and direct current machines and specifies: a) rules for the identification of winding connection points; b) marking of winding terminals; c) direction of rotation; d) relationship between terminal markings and direction of rotation; e) terminal markings of accessories; f) terminal wiring diagrams for machines used for typical applications; g) newly introduced specifications for the marking of permanent lifting magnet machines. It does not apply to synchronous machines with nonsalient rotor. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 311.1 "Elektrische Maschinen, Leistungen und Abmessungen" ("Electrical machinery, performance and dimensions") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60034-8:2008-04; VDE 0530-8:2008-04 .
