Overview

This standard applies to straight hollow metallic tubing for use as waveguides in electronic equipment. It specifies the dimensions, mechanical requirements, electrical tests, and attenuation constants for normal rectangular waveguides. No recommendations are given for materials to be used for waveguides. The choice of material is agreed between customer and manufacturer. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.4 "Passive HF- und Mikrowellenbauelemente" ("RF and microwave passive components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
