This standard specifies the dimensions and the fundamental requirements of waveguide flanges for use in electronic equipment. The aim of this standard is to specify for waveguide flanges the mechanical requirements necessary to ensure compatibility and, as far as practicable, interchangeability as well as to ensure adequate electrical performance. The principal change compared to the previous edition concerns the definition of the fitting pin and the fitting hole for waveguides. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.4 "Passive HF- und Mikrowellenbauelemente" ("RF and microwave passive components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
