This standard specifies the dimensions and basic requirements for flanges for waveguides used in electronic equipment. It specifies the dimensions, mechanical requirements, electrical tests and reflection for flanges. It also specifies requirements for loose flanges. The main changes compared to the previous edition concern the calculation of the return loss and the increase of the operating frequency range up to 3.3 THz. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.4 "Passive HF- und Mikrowellenbauelemente" ("RF and microwave passive components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
