Overview
The responsible Committee is K 413 "Wickeldrähte" ("Winding wires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE. The test procedure specified in this standard describes, in accordance with IEC 60216-1, the determination of the temperature index of enamelled and tape-wrapped round and rectangular wires. It is not applicable to fibre-insulated wire or wire which is wrapped in tape containing inorganic fibres. The preceding draft standard was E DIN IEC 60172/A2:2009-05.
This document replaces DIN EN 60172/A1:1998-05 , DIN EN 60172:1995-11 .
