Overview
This standard specifies minimum requirements for the protection function, measurement characteristics and time delay characteristics of over/under voltage relays. It defines the influencing factors that affect the accuracy under steady state conditions and performance characteristics during dynamic conditions. The test methodologies for verifying performance characteristics and accuracy are also included in this standard. The over/under voltage functions for phase undervoltage protection, positive sequence undervoltage protection, phase overvoltage protection, residual/zero-sequence overvoltage protection and negative sequence/unbalance overvoltage protection are dealt with. The responsible committee is DKE/K 434 "Messrelais und Schutzeinrichtungen" ("Measuring relays and protection equipment") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
