Overview

This standard applies to all types of high-voltage current-limiting fuses designed for use outdoors and indoors on alternating current systems of 50 Hz and 60 Hz and of rated voltages exceeding 1 kV. Some fuses are equipped with fuse-links which are furnished with an indicator or a striker pin. These fuses are within the scope of this standard; the faultless operation of the striker pin in connection with the tripping device of the switchgear are within the scope of DIN EN 62271-105 (VDE 0671-105). The Committee responsible for this standard is Subcommittee UK 432.4 "Hochspannungssicherungen" ("High-voltage fuses").
