Overview
This standard applies to electric irons for household and similar use. The purpose of this standard is to state and define the performance essential for the user of electric irons for household and similar use and to describe the standard test methods for the determination of this performance. With respect to DIN EN 60311:2006-09 the following changes have been made: a) the measurement methods for the heat-up time at steam operation, steam duration, steam flow rate and waterproofness; b) the measurement methods for the total steam duration when using hard water has been fundamentally revised. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 513.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
