Overview
This standard extends the DIN EN 60317-0-X series to include a new product class. The fully insulated zero-defect winding wires specified here (Fully Insulated Wire, FIW) facilitate the fully-automatised production of winding goods with basic insulation. Its essential electrical properties correspond with the so-called TEX-E wires. While the general requirements of this product class are specified in this standard, DIN EN 60317-56 provides the corresponding concrete specifications for round copper wires. The responsible committee is DKE/K 413 "Wickeldrähte" ("Winding wires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
