This standard extends the DIN EN 60317-0-X series to include a new product class specifying general requirements of polyester glass fibre wound, resin or varnish impregnated or not impregnated, bare or enamelled rectangular copper wire. The responsible committee is DKE/K 413 "Wickeldrähte" ("Winding wires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
