Overview
This standard shall be used in conjunction with standard DIN EN 60317-0-8 which applies for glass fibre wound and resin or varnish impregnated rectangular wire. Each part of the DIN EN 60317-X series gives special types of coatings and thus temperature classes of round wire as well as rectangular copper wire. The consistent main characteristics of the bare round and rectangular copper wire are summarized in the DIN EN 60317-0-X series so they do not need to be repeated. The responsible committee is DKE/K 413 "Wickeldrähte" ("Winding wires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
