This part of the DIN EN 60332 (VDE 0482-332) series of standards specifies the test apparatus for testing for vertical flame propagation for a single core, cable or fiber optic cable under fire conditions. The test method and an informative annex of the recommended requirements specified in DIN EN 60332-1-2 (VDE 0482-332-1-2). The tests for vertical flame propagation on an insulated conductor or cable are divided into the following parts of the standard: - Part 1-1 specifies the test apparatus. - Part 1-2 specifies the test method with 1 kW flame with gas/air mixture. - Part 1-3 specifies the test method for evaluating falling droplets/parts. This amendment revises the definition of the ignition source and the height tolerance of the metal enclosure. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 411.2 "Isolierte Starkstromleitungen" ("Insulated cables, wires and flexible cords for power installation") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60332-1-1:2005-06; VDE 0482-332-1-1:2005-06 .
