Overview
This standard deals with the safety of electric deep fat fryers having a recommended maximum quantity of oil not exceeding 5 l, frying pans, woks and other appliances in which oil is used for cooking, and intended for household use only, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. The scope has been revised in order to cover the use both as a household appliance and for related applications, such as the use in kitchens for staff. Therefore the manufacturer must indicate the intended use. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 511.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
