Overview

This standard applies for the safety of electric kitchen machines, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V, for household and similar purposes. Requirements for persons requiring protection are adapted to the next edition of EN 60335-1. It is described, for example, under which conditions certain age groups of children are allowed to use or not use the appliances. The external surface temperatures in 11.8 have been redefined in this context and in relation to the surface. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 511.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
