Overview
This European Standard applies for the safety of electrical appliances for heating liquids for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. Requirements for persons requiring protection are adapted to the next edition of EN 60335-1. The external surface temperatures in 11.8 have been redefined in this context and in relation to the surface. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 511.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
