Overview
This standard deals with the safety of electric blankets, pads, clothing and other flexible appliances that heat the bed or human body, for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. Normative requirements which have so far been included in notes have been converted to normative text. Furthermore, the tests which no longer correspond with the current state of the art have been deleted. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 511.9 "Schmiegsame Wärmegeräte" ("Flexible heating appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
