Overview

This standard applies for the safety of electric vacuum cleaners and water suction cleaning appliances for household and similar purposes, including vacuum cleaners for animal grooming, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. It also applies to centrally-sited vacuum cleaners, motorized cleaning heads and current-carrying hoses associated with a particular vacuum cleaner. This standard contains the text of CENELEC Amendment A11:2010-05 to EN 60335-2-2:2003 and additional requirements and testing for determining the category "persons requiring protection" and children and temperature limits for touchable hot surfaces. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 511.11 "Motorische Geräte" ("Motor-operated appliances").
