Overview

This standard clarifies which parts of foot massagers that use water are considered active parts. The position and equipment of an operating unit in the connection cable is described in more detail. The aim is to prevent the control unit from lying on the floor, being damaged and posing a hazard. As a common European adaptation, the scope of application has been rewritten to meet the conditions for vulnerable persons and to be adapted to DIN EN 60335-1:2012. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 511.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
