Overview

This standard deals with the safety of electrical air-cleaning appliances for household and similar purposes, their rated voltages is not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. The essential safety and health requirements of the Machinery Directive are covered. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 511.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
