Overview
This standard applies to the power line carrier-frequency (PLC) application and therefore for AC or DC single-phase coupling capacitors, with rated voltage > 1 000 V, connected between line and ground of power lines. It applies to carrier frequencies from 30 kHz to 500 kHz in lines with AC power frequencies from 15 Hz to 60 Hz. It specifies requirements regarding the additional steady high frequency current. Furthermore, it contains requirements for carrier-frequency accessories. The responsible committee is DKE/K 341 "Leistungskondensatoren" ("Power capacitors") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
