Overview

This standard applies for connectors for electrical and electronic applications used in twisted pair communication cabling with remote power, such as ISO/IEC 11801 Class D. The test described in this standard determines the ability of connectors to withstand a minimal number of engagements and separations when an electrical current is being passed through the connector. The responsible committee is DKE/K 651 "Steckverbinder" ("Connector") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
