This standard shall be used in conjunction with DIN EN 60519-1 (VDE 7021) "Safety in installations for electroheating and electromagnetic processing - Part 1: General requirements" which contains general requirements for electroheating installations. This standard deals with the particular requirements that occur additionally during infrared heating. As many different types of electroheating equipment emit infrared radiation of hazardous levels, the scope of this standard of the DIN EN 60519 series addresses these infrared radiation aspects for other parts of the series as well. The responsible committee is DKE/K 362 "Industrielle Elektrowärme" ("Industrial electroheating") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
