Overview
The standard specifies requirements for lighting chains for indoor or outdoor use for bulbs which are connected in series or in parallel or a combination thereof, for supply voltage operations of up to 250 V. It applies in connection with the main clauses of DIN EN 60598-1 (VDE 0711-1) to which a reference is made. The Committee responsible for the standard is Subcommittee UK 521.4 "Leuchten" ("Luminaires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
