Overview

This Part 2 of the IEC 60598 series of standards contains requirements for floodlights with electric light sources for operation on supply voltages up to 1 000 V. The mechanical stress of floodlights is similar to the mechanical stress of street lighting. For this reason, this standard has been updated with regard to testing the mechanical properties of flat and curved glass in accordance with IEC 60598-2-3. The committee responsible for the standard is Subcommittee DKE/UK 521.4 "Leuchten" ("Luminaires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

Replacement amendments

This document replaces DIN EN 60598-2-5 Berichtigung 1:1999-08; VDE 0711-2-5 Berichtigung 1:1999-08 , DIN EN 60598-2-5:1998-11; VDE 0711-2-5:1998-11 .
