This part of IEC 60695 provides general guidance on how to reduce to acceptable levels the risk of fire and the potential effects of fires involving electrotechnical products. This part also serves as a signpost document to the other guidance documents in the IEC 60695 series. The responsible Committee is K 133 "Prüfverfahren zur Beurteilung der Brandgefahr von elektrotechnischen Produkten und Isolierstoffen" ("Test methods for assessing the fire hazard of electrotechnical products and insulating materials") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
