Overview

This International Standard defines terms for thyristor valves for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission with line commutated converters most commonly based on three-phase bridge connections for the conversion from AC to DC and vice versa. The responsible committee is DKE/K 331 "Leistungselektronik" ("Power electronics") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
