Overview
This part of DIN EN 60793 specifies requirements for class B single-mode fibres applicable in addition to the general requirements of DIN EN 60793-2. These fibres are used in information transmission equipment and optical fibre cables. Specific requirements common to single-mode fibres of classes B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B2, B4, B5 and B6 are given in normative annexes. Furthermore, a map illustrating the connection of IEC designations to ITU-T designations is shown in Annex I. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.6 "Lichtwellenleiter und Lichtwellenkabel" ("Optical fibres and fibre cables") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
