Overview
This part of IEC 60794 is a family specification that covers simplex and duplex optical fibre cables for indoor use which supplements sectional specification IEC 60794-2 by other requirements and describes tests demonstrating compliance with those. This detail specification is not applicable for cables used in terminated assemblies specified in IEC 60794-2-50. The informative annexes provide examples for types of cable design and a form for the description of cables. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 412.6 "Lichtwellenleiter und Lichtwellenleiterkabel" ("Fibres and cables") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
