DIN EN 60794-2-22:2017-10

This part of IEC 60794 is a detail specification and applies to armored simplex breakout cables that are to be terminated with connectors and used indoors. The requirements of the sectional specification IEC 60794-2 are applicable to cables covered by this document. The requirements of the family specification IEC 60794-2-20 are applicable to breakout cables to be installed without terminated connectors. For requirements not covered by this specification, the simplex cable family specification IEC 60794-2-50 and the detail specification IEC 60794-2-51 shall be applied. This standard does not apply to fan-out cables that do not contain any fibers and are used for cable systems. Compliance with the requirements of the standard shall be verified by testing. It is not intended that all tests be carried out in every case. The tests to be carried out and their frequency shall be agreed between the user and the manufacturer. The standard thus offers investment security for manufacturers and users and provides test laboratories and manufacturers with defined information for testing. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.6 "Lichtwellenleiter und Lichtwellenkabel" ("Optical fibres and fibre cables") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
