Overview
This Part 2 of IEC 60825 contains requirements and specific guidance for the safe operation and maintenance of optical fibre communication systems (OFCS). In these systems optical power may be accessible outside the confinements of transmitting equipment or at great distance from the optical source. Amendment A2 has already been included in the consolidated version of November 2007. The responsible Committee is Joint Committee GK 841 "Optische Strahlungssicherheit und Lasereinrichtungen" ("Optical radiation safety and laser equipment") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60825-2:2007-11; VDE 0837-2:2007-11 .
