Overview

This standard describes the general requirements for planning, installation, operation, maintenance and documentation for the application of electronic access control systems. Separate instructions are provided for each activity together with recommendations for the necessary documentation. This standard explains the minimum requirements and recommended actions to be taken for the installation and operation of such systems, as well as recommended characteristics to achieve the different levels of protection. The committee responsible is Subcommittee UK 713.1 "Gefahrenmelde- und Überwachungsanlagen" ("Alarm and surveillance systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
