DIN EN 60947-1:2015-09

This standard applies for industrial low-voltage switchgear and control gear for use in circuits, the voltage of which does not exceed 1 000 V a.c. or 1 500 d.c. The purpose of this standard is to specify those general rules and requirements which are common to low-voltage switchgear and controlgear. This standard f a second amendment of the fifth edition IEC 60947-1 contains several modifications for various topics of the standard. Significant modifications concern - the addition of methods for the determination of data for electromechanical contactor relays with functional safety; - the environmental-conscious design; - harmonization of the insulation parts; - energy management for switchgear and controlgear for electrical energy efficiency; - the procedure to establish material declaration. The responsible committee is DKE/K 431 "Niederspannungsschaltgeräte und -kombinationen" ("Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
