Overview
This standard provides detailed specifications relating to the electrical and mechanical construction of emergency stop devices with mechanical latching function and to their testing. This standard is applicable to electrical control circuit devices and switching elements which are used to provide an emergency stop signal. Such devices may be either provided with their own enclosure, or installed according to the manufacturer's instructions. This European amendment to the International Standard IEC 60947-5-5:1997 and its Amendment 1:2005 contains additions to the foreword and scope. The scope of application includes information concerning noise emission. The responsible committee is DKE/K 431 "Niederspannungsschaltgeräte und -kombinationen" ("Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60947-5-5:2015-12; VDE 0660-210:2015-12 .
