This new edition specifies safety and performance requirements applicable to limited duty arc welding and cutting power sources, and auxiliaries designed for use by laymen. The specifications cover wire feeders, torches and electrode holders which are in connection with those welding power sources. The responsible committee is DKE/K 361 "Lichtbogenschweißeinrichtungen (Schmelzschweißen)" ("Electric arc welding equipment (Fusion welding)") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

Replacement amendments

This document replaces DIN EN 60974-6:2011-10; VDE 0544-6:2011-10 .
