DIN EN 61010-2-033 (VDE 0411-2-033) specifies the safety requirements for hand-held meters for domestic and professional use that have a primary purpose of measuring voltage on a live mains circuit. These meters have various names such as multimeter, digital multimeter, voltmeter and clamp meter (see also Part 2-032). DIN EN 61010-2-033 (VDE 0411-2-033) shall be used in conjunction with DIN 61010-1 (VDE 0411-1), on the basis of which this standard was established. This Part 2-033 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses in DIN EN 61010-1 (VDE 0411-1).
