Overview

This standard specifies a test procedure for general communication subsystems measuring the optical power coupled from the output of a transmitter under test into single-mode optical fibre cable containing dispersion-unshifted fibre or dispersion-shifted fibre. The significant change compared to the previous edition is the inclusion of Annex A on the consideration of uncertainties. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.2 "Komponenten für Kommunikationskabelanlagen" ("Fibre optic systems and active devices") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

Replacement amendments

This document replaces DIN EN 61280-1-1:1999-05 .
