Overview
This standard specifies a test method for measurement of the optical eye pattern and waveform parameters, such as rise time, fall time, modulation amplitude and extinction ratio. Alternatively, the waveform can be checked for compliance with a previously specified mask for the waveform. The methods for specification of the parameters critical for the optical eye pattern are described. The standard provides users, manufacturers and testing facilities with security in testing and assessment. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.2 "Komponenten für Kommunikationskabelanlagen" ("Components for communication cable installations") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 61280-2-2:2009-02 .
