This part of IEC 61300 describes the procedure to determine the concentricity of the axis of the bore in a non-angled ferrule with the axis of the ferrule, or in the case of non-angled ferrules with fibre installed, to determine the concentricity of the axis of the fibre core with the axis of the ferrule. The standard differs from DIN EN 61300-3-25:2014-05 as follows: a) procedure C has been deleted, as it causes damage to the ferrule end face by the spindle; b) procedure A has been split into procedure A-1 and procedure A-2, concerning the two types of ferrules (with/without built-in fibre); c) Annexes A and B have been incorporated into the test procedure. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive optical components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 61300-3-25:2014-05 .
