DIN EN 61360-6:2018-01

The availability of data about products and services in different processes significantly expands development options and is increasingly a requirement in electronic and general technical areas. Common understanding and a generally valid treatment of the data are essential in this regard. In order to define parameters and characteristics or to categorize products, classification and data description systems are used, for whose structure and content the IEC 61360 series specifies normative rules. Furthermore, defining information objects and their textual content repeatedly proves to be a challenging, sometimes even "treacherous" task. IEC 61360-6 supports this task by providing guidance on definitions, which can then be added to the content of the IEC CDD in a suitable form (including format). It also provides an overview of basic concepts and procedures for the IEC CDD. IEC 61360-6 is aimed at technical experts who are specialists in their particular technical fields of knowledge. The responsible committee is DKE/K 113 "Produktdatenmodelle, Informationsstrukturen, Dokumentation und graphische Symbole" ("Product data models, information structures, documentation and graphical symbols") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
