Overview
This part of the International Standards Series IEC 61375 specifies Ethernet Train Backbone (ETB) requirements for Ethernet train communication networks. Its application is intended to enable data communication systems in open trains. Compliance with this standard ensures interoperability between local subnetworks, regardless of the network technology used. This standard is also applicable to closed trains and multiple unit trains if the customer and supplier agree. The committee responsible is Subcommittee DKE/UK 351.1 "Fahrzeuge" ("Rolling stock") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
