Overview

This IEC part describes one component of the Train Communication Network (TCN), the Multifunction Vehicle Bus (MVB). That is a serial data communication bus designed primarily, but not exclusively, for interconnecting equipment where interoperability and interchangeability are required. The committee responsible is DKE/UK 351.1 "Fahrzeuge" ("Rolling stock") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
