Overview

The standard specifies the requirements and tests for greases designed for corrosion protection of bare overhead conductors. The greases protect the conductors from atmospheric corrosion during operation and storage. Under the specified conditions they have to remain in the conductor. The responsible committee is K 421 "Freileitungen" ("Overhead lines") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
